Mon domaine de recherche se situe en topologie algébrique et ses applications. Trois directions principales

Méthodes asymptotiques en l'homotopie instable, [86], [87], [88], [90], [92], [96], [97]. en collaboration avec Y. Félix (Louvain La Neuve) et S. Halperin (Maryland)

Ce thème est centré sur l'étude de la structure des algèbres de Hopf co-commutatives graduées (résolubilité croissance exponentielle,...). Ceci afin d'\étudier les propriétés asymptotiques de l'homologie entière des espaces de lacets pointés d'un espace topologique X. Nous avons obtenu en [90] le résultat suivant qui était conjecturé depuis de nombreuses années : Si X est un CW complexe 1-connexe de type fini alors le rang des groupes d'homotopies de $X$ est nul à partir d'un certain degré ou bien il existe un entier d tel que la suite S(n) := somme des rangs des groupes d'homotopie de n à n+d, admet une croissance exponentielle. Ce résultat est complété dans [92] et [ 93] . Nous avons aussi établi par les même techniques la croissance exponentielle des nombres de Betti de certains espaces de lacets libre [97 ].

Topologie des cordes et théorie des champs, [85],[89], [91], [93], [95]. en collaboration avec D. Chataur (Lille 1), Y. Félix (Louvain La Neuve) L. Menichi (Angers) et M. Vigué(Paris 13)

L'espace des cordes fermées sur un espace X est noté LX. Son homologie singulière, notée H(LX), est, sous certaines hypothèses portant sur X [93], [95], munie d'une famille d'opérations paramétrée par des surfaces compactes orientées et à bord orienté. Ces opérations définissent sur H(LX) ou son dual linéaire #H(LX), par exemple une structure d'algèbre de Frobenius (i.e une 2-TQFT) ou une structure d'algèbre de Batalin-Vilkovisky (déduite de l'existence d'une théorie homologique des champs conformes) [89]. Notre problème est le calcul de ces structures à l'aide des méthodes de l'algèbre différentielle homologique. Conjecture : Sous de bonnes hypothèses sur X il existe sur HH*(C(X) ; #C(X)) et sur HH (C(X) ; C(X)) une structure de BV-algèbre qui est définie de manière purement algébrique à l'aide de C(X). De plus, a) il existe un isomorphisme de BV-algèbres HH*(C(X) ; #C(X)) →H (LX), b) il existe un isomorphisme de BV-algèbres HH(C(X) ; C(X)) → H ^\#(LX). lorsque HH(A ;M) (resp. HH*(A ;M) ) désigne l'homologie (resp. la cohomologie) de Hochschild d'une algèbre différentielle graduée A à coefficients dans un A-bimodule différentiel M et C(X) désigne l'algèbre différentielle graduée des cochaînes singulières normalisées de X. Cette conjecture est démontrée dans [85] et [91 pour un corps de caractéristique 0.

Problème des géodésiques fermées et Homologie des espaces de lacets libres [94], [99]. en collaboration avec N. Bitjong (Yaoundé),

Ce problème, posé par Poincaré dans son analyse du problème des trois corps, a été vite résolu dans le cas des variétés non 1-connexes. Dans le cas 1-connexe il a été résolu, par beaucoup d'auteurs, sous des hypothèses supplémentaires. Notre approche originale consiste en une ``algébrisation'' du théorème qui tienne compte le plus possible de sa nature géométrique . Pour cela nous utilisons la structure d'algèbre ``stongly homotopy commutative'' qui est un cas particulier de B-infinie algèbre ainsi que dans [94] la notion d'application A-infinie. Dans l'article [99] nous établissons grâce à ces méthodes un un résultat qui permet d'identifier l'homologie de l'espace des lacets libres, considérée comme une algèbre de Lie graduée comme vue précédemment avec une un algèbre de Lie de dérivations à partir d'un certain degré. Cette algèbre de Lie de dérivations apparaît dans le problème de la quantification des algèbres associatives. Ce problème qui intervient dans le ``scattering problem'' via l'étude des équations de Yang-Baxter est l'objet de recherches menées par mon collègue V. Roubtsov suite au travaux de V. Drindfeld et de V. Lyubashenko.

Incremental backup maker based on rsync.

SYNOPSIS

rocknroll --init n tag dstdir

rocknroll [options] tag srcdir dstdir

rocknroll --help

DESCRIPTION

rocknroll backups a remote directories tree srcdir in dstdir onto the local host. For this backup, it manages a set of archives, named tag.1, tag.2, etc. Using the famous 'link-dest' option of rsync, it keeps only the difference between the different archives.

A dstdir can contain several tagged sequences of archive. For example, a dstdir can contain 2 archive sets named daily.1 daily.2 daily.3 daily.4 daily.5 daily.6 daily.7 and week.1 week.2 week.3 week.4.

Before a dstdir can be able to store an archive sequence, it must be formatted with the --init option.

--help

--init n: format a backup directory to receive n archives. Needed before a dstdir can be used.
-c config_file: use an alternate config file. By default, rocknroll.conf is searched in @, @/../etc, /etc, where @ is the directory contained the rocknroll binary.
--continue: start again with an existing .tag.running archive (useful after an abort)
--dry-run: don't perfom any action, just say what it could be done
--link-dest dir: by default the link-dest option is set to the tag.1 directory name. This option is to bypass this default.
--mail_from email: set the email address of the sender for the mail alerts
--mail_to email: set the email address of the recipient for the mail alerts
--max_runtime time_in_second: set the max among of time that a backup can take. Older than this value, a .tag.running temporary directory will be deleted.
--no-links: don't specify a --link-dest tag.1 option to rsync
--no-roll: don't roll up the archives set
--refresh: only update the archive tag.1 (without deletion of any files on it). Don't roll up the archives set.
--rsync_retcode_ok n,n,n,n: specify a list of return codes of rsync considered as OK codes. Each code not specified with --rsync_retcode_ok or --rsync_retcode_warn is considered as an error return code.
--rsync_retcode_warn n,n,n: specify a list of return codes of rsync considered as warning codes. Each code not specified with --rsync_retcode_ok or --rsync_retcode_warn is considered as an error return code.
--ro "--opt1 --opt2 --opt3": pass some options to rsync (useful only in argument of command line)
--ro_default "--opt1 --opt2": pass some options to rsync (useful only in config file)
--send_warn 0/1: send alert on warning (default is send alert only on error)
--smtp_server smtp_server: set the SMTP server
--update: update archive tag.1 (with deletion of obsolete files). Don't roll up archives set.
--use_syslog: enable talk to syslog

CONFIGURATION FILE

A configuration file rocknroll.conf, located in @, @/../etc, /etc, where @ is the directory contained the rocknroll binary, can contain any of the preceeding options. The format of a line is : option=value. A # starts a comment.

FILES AND DIRECTORIES

rocknroll.conf: configuration file
.tag.ctl: a control file located in the backup directory, related to the tag archive set.
.tag.running: the temporary directory (located in the archive directory) for the running rsync.
